save the date

We sent our save the dates out a few weeks ago. We decided to send them electronically to save time and money on shipping costs. I am incredibly lucky to be marrying a man who is very creative and good with layouts. He created these with a nod to our engagement in a canoe and the great adventure that is ahead of us. Our wedding is a little less than three months away. The time is literally flying by! Holy Cow! In 87 days I will be a Mrs.

wreath

Beautiful wreath. The ribbon is sumptuous and sweet. I am contemplating how to incorporate wreaths into the wedding. I am thinking one on each of the chapel doors.

diy menu

I would love a DIY menu board for my day. We are doing buffet though. Can you still do one large menu board or do I need little menu cards at each buffet station?

P.S. Sorry for the radio silence lately. Real life wedding planning has taken a front seat to online blogging and blog reading. Please do forgive me.

also from olivet

This luncheon reception is killer. The pops of red against the all white linens is spectacular. I am attempting to focus on my inspiration for the reception. This is a pretty tempting option.

alternative altar

This handmade reception entrance piece would be perfect as an alternative to an altar table. It would represent the closing of one door (singleness) and the transition through into a new chapter (married life). How cool is that? Plus the greenery is quite fab. Don't you think?

opulent wedding

Holy cow. This reception is quite, quite stunning. And in my colors too! The draping is to die for.

white washed cotton

More cotton. We must incoporate this somehow.

wedding vision, continued

What a beauty. Still loving banquet tables. But it is that vaulted ceiling that is supreme.

wedding vision no. 2

Man I love me some banquet tables. Family style dining at its finest. Also, bentwood chairs are quite nice, aren't they?

darling wedding

I am totally stealing these two ideas from Whitney of Darling Dexter. Hopefully she won't mind. I have been thinking about having multiple cakes for a long time. C and I are total dessert people, so I want to offer as many options as possible (ok, and also maybe save a little bit of money). The timeline in the programs is a totally rad idea. C and I have been together for what seems like forever, and it has been quite the journey. I think it would be neat to share a little of that history with our guests.

garden party

More wedding inspiration. Love the colors. I may begin posting random bits of wedding beauty in the form of just pictures. Please bear with me.

cotton valley

Oh how I dearly love the look of cotton bowls. This will most definitely need to be incorporated into our wedding. I love the old timey, grainy vibe of these photos. The vintage glassware is stunning as well. Perfection.

inspiring wedding

Holy lot of gorgeousness! This Dallas wedding looks like a dream. And her gown, oh my. This couple had the reception at the Nasher Sculpture Center. In another world, with another budget, this would be ideal.

wedding colors pt.2

Kathryn hit the nail square on the head with this one. Almost exactly what I have in mind. Pink and gold and sepia and ivory and peach. Add in a little kraft paper and champagne and we are all set.

gorgeous gowns no. 1

These Amsale gowns are so over-the-top gorgeous. White cotton candy fluffs of dresses. Pure romance.

My lovelies-any tips for choosing a bridal gown? I am having complete shopping ADD when it comes to the wedding gown. Every style I see is more beautiful than the next. How do I choose just one?

well hello there

Three cheers for the first day of fall! If I can look one ounce as chic as Keri does above, it will be a great season. Plus, PLUS!, I will be wedding planning. And honeymoon planning. And marriage planning. And life planning. It is sure to be grand.

sneak peek

I got engaged! My amazing fiance :) asked me to marry him on Sat. God is so gracious to have blessed me with such a wonderful man with such a huge heart. I am thrilled to start planning our new life together!

Please indulge me as I begin blogging bridal pretties. We are hoping to host our wedding in the Spring, and I will need all the inspiration I can get. Will you please lend me a hand by offering your opinions and any advice? I would truly appreciate it. You guys are the best!

P.S. The (slightly blurry) phone snapshot of my ring above is just a preview. Many more pics from the engagement party to come.

Just a quick note to wish you a happy and rest-filled long weekend. We are taking a little trip to wooded East Texas for a bit of a retreat. Should be bliss. Hope yours is a doozy!

Here I go again with my love of lace. So pretty. Plus there is something a little bit ballerina about it, no? Even better.

breath like a baby

Why do I have a newfound infatuation with baby's breath? For some reason the inexpensive, throwaway, laciness of it all is enthralling me. Especially those table toppers. Is that crazy? And I am totally digging how economical they must be. You could definitely make them yourself. So cool.

Do you think it would be possible to work these beauties into my everyday wear? It is mighty tempting. My oh my, there is a flurry of gorgeous flora on etsy these days. Love love.

cotton and lace

The bf and I met in college out in the plains of West Texas. Cotton country. These cotton bowl bouts are SO up our alley.

I am also loving this sweetly simple cotton and lace wedding dress. So classic and beautiful.

g style

I think these lifestyle/musician portraits by Trever Hoehne are freakin awesome. This guy's style would make an awesome groom's outfit. Don't you think? And oh how I love the lighting. Also, this makes me a little itchy to take some pics on some railroad tracks.
