breath like a baby

Why do I have a newfound infatuation with baby's breath? For some reason the inexpensive, throwaway, laciness of it all is enthralling me. Especially those table toppers. Is that crazy? And I am totally digging how economical they must be. You could definitely make them yourself. So cool.

flurry of flora

Do you think it would be possible to work these beauties into my everyday wear? It is mighty tempting. My oh my, there is a flurry of gorgeous flora on etsy these days. Love love.

cotton and lace

The bf and I met in college out in the plains of West Texas. Cotton country. These cotton bowl bouts are SO up our alley.

I am also loving this sweetly simple cotton and lace wedding dress. So classic and beautiful.

g style

I think these lifestyle/musician portraits by Trever Hoehne are freakin awesome. This guy's style would make an awesome groom's outfit. Don't you think? And oh how I love the lighting. Also, this makes me a little itchy to take some pics on some railroad tracks.

I think these need no explanation.

i want to be your family

This song by Whitney's hubby is so simple and sweet and charming. Whitney and her hubs are super creative and take wedding pics as a duo among other things. And while I am at it, I must say that I adore her blog Darling Dexter. Check it.

an inspired space

Someday I will have a studio as beautiful as this one. A place to play and think and create. An inspired space where magical things happen. A place where I can organize my thoughts and my many collections. A place with a tiny corner carved out for pretty vintage pictures and ephemera, a wall for my antique hand mirrors, a niche for my knick knacks, and shelves upon shelves for my cake stands and milk glass. A space where creativity can grow. Someday.

scripted

I have been thinking a lot lately about being a professional calligrapher. Is that even a profession? I have a long history of doodling in various handwritings. I think calligraphy marries my love for pretty paper with my love for weddings and parties and my love for shiny, swirly stuff. I am contemplating a class offered at SMU. What do you think? How should I get started?

an ode to open shelving

Oh open shelving, how I love thee! I especially love you when paired with all white cabinetry or subway tiles or both. Sigh. I am such a collector of things. Pretty things. Things like milk glass and cake stands and white vases. And I have lots of pretty things that would look even prettier grouped in little vignettes on open shelves. Someday.

xoxo, me.
